Enrichment does not need to be complicated. The best starting point is a small, easy win that lets your cat investigate at their own pace.
1. Start easy
Use part of your cat’s regular food allowance or a suitable treat. Make the first attempt simple enough that the reward is easy to find.
2. Let curiosity lead
Give your cat space to sniff, paw, and work things out. Some cats begin immediately; others prefer to watch first. Both are normal.
3. Build the habit
Once the activity feels familiar, add a little challenge. Short, positive sessions are more useful than making the task frustrating.
A cat-first reminder
Every cat is different. Supervise new activities, inspect products regularly, follow the product instructions, and stop if your cat seems stressed or begins chewing a product that is not designed for chewing. Enrichment is not a substitute for veterinary care or individual dietary advice.
